U.S. President Donald Trump was seen getting into what appears to be a new armored presidential Cadillac Escalade to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The limousine-configured Cadillac Escalade appears to be a new addition to the U.S. Secret Service vehicle fleet, according to The War Zone.
From images taken at the Davos airport, the two Escalades waiting on the tarmac appeared heavily armored, especially around the front windshield and doors.
They also feature a variety of antennas on the rear of the roof, as well as one at the front, just above the driver’s seat, indicating that the Secret Service uses these vehicles to maintain communication with the White House during the president’s travels.
Additional details about the Secret Service Escalade are limited, although it’s safe to assume it has a number of additional defensive features and other systems not easily visible.
This is the first time President Trump has been seen entering one of these SUVs, although he has previously been transported in Secret Service-armored Chevrolet Suburbans.
Presidential travel demands optimal protection. Wherever the President travels, a fortified protective contingent travels with him.
